Credit Mobility

Erasmus+ short-term Mobility programs promote, in higher education, student and academic mobility.

Among students, mobility activities aim to: 

• improve learning performance;
• enhance employability and improved career prospects;
• increase sense of initiative and entrepreneurship;
• increase self-empowerment and self-esteem;
• improve foreign language competences;
• enhanced intercultural awareness;
• enhance their active participation in society;
• make a better awareness of the European project and the EU values;
• increased motivation for taking part in future (formal/non-formal) education or training after the mobility period abroad.

As regards academic staff, the mobility activities are expected to produce the following outcomes:

• improved competences, linked to their professional profiles;
• increased capacity to trigger changes in terms of modernisation and international opening within their educational organisations;
• greater understanding of interconnections between formal and non-formal education, vocational training and the labour market respectively;
• better quality of their work and activities in favour of students;
• greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity;
• increased opportunities for professional and career development;
• improved foreign language competences;
• increased motivation and satisfaction in their daily work.

Each mobility project implies preparation (selection of participants, signing agreements with partners and participants, training participant's language knowledges), implementing and monitoring (including activities evaluation, official recognition, where necessary, of the results of mobility perioud and dissemination the results of the project). 

Duration of the project. 16 or 24 months. The applicant must choose the duration at application stage, based on the scale of the project and on the type of activities planned over time. 

How to apply? Moldovan Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can not apply directly for mobility grants. To benefit from this type of projects universities must identify partners from EU countries. Mobility activities are based on interinstitutional agreements signed by HEIs from Partner Countires and from Programme Countries. Based on the same agreement it is possible for Moldovan HEIs to host european students or academic staff. 

Only HEIs from Programme Countries can request and manage a mobility grant. The application must be submitted (respecting the deadline) at the National Erasmus+ Agency of the country in which the applicant organization is based in. 

Joint Masters Degree

HEIs from Moldova can be part of consortia that offer a Joint Masters Degree Programme, during which students are doing their courses in at least two HEIs and are awarded a joint or double/ multiple degree. Students register directly on the consortia's website. Based on competition principles, a joint commision of the consortium is conducting the selection process. HEIs are entitled of remuneration for the expenses of managing the joint masters program. 

How to apply? Institutions from Programme Countries submit a Joint Masters Degree program request in the name of the consortium. Partner Countries (as is Moldova) can only have the status of partners in the consortium. 

Same rules apply for participation in Joint Doctoral Degree programs. 

For the long term, it is expected that the combined effect of several thousand projects supported in Key action 1 will have an impact on education, training and youth systems in all participating countries, thus incouraging strategical reforms and attracting new resouces for mobility opportunities in Europe and outside its borders.
