Supervising doctoral students - Good practices

National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova and the Ministry of Education of Republic of Moldova have organized on December 1st an event on the subject on “Supervising doctoral students- good practices”. Among the participants were the vie-rectors for research, directors of doctoral schools and doctoral students.

The international expert invited was Dr. Melita Kovacevic, former President of the Steering Committee for the Council of Doctoral Studies from European University Association; former Vice-rector for Research and Technology at the University of Zagreb.

Among the discussed subjects were the interaction between the student and the mentor, the intellectual property rights, the peer-review approach, doctoral study internationalization and the cluster research activity. In addition, the expert’s interventions and recommendations were related to the responsibilities of the supervisor, the student and the university; the methodology for elaborating the doctoral thesis; the types and methods of supervision; as well as the elaboration of the supervising plans.

The presentations were followed by discussion during which the seminar participants have shared their practical experiences from the doctoral schools from Moldova and the experience of international collaborations.

Fabien Schaeffer, representative of the EU Delegation in Moldova and Nadejda Velişco, the head of the Higher Education and Development of Science Department of the Ministry of Education also participated at the event and adressed the audience. 

This event was part of the technical assistance mission - Higher Education Reform Experts activity from the Erasmus+ Programme.
